What is a single buggy?

Types of single buggies
A light buggy is a great choice for parents who travel often, plan to use public transport with their child or take a trip on vacation. They typically weigh less than 6kg and fold up compactly and can be carried in the overhead compartments of flights. Buggies that are lightweight are great for travelling around town because they're easy to maneuver. Many come with a sunshade and raincover that are worth investing in to keep your baby happy on any outing!
A jogger buggy is equipped with large BMX wheels and is made for exercise. It also has an excellent suspension to take the bounces and bumps of off-road use. It isn't easy to steer a jogger buggie as the front wheels can be able to rotate. Locking this wheel is essential when crossing roads or putting on kerbs.
Some buggies are reversible. This allows the seat to face forward or backward (also known as a parent-facing). This is great for infants who are irritable in the car seat and prefer to look out at their parents. Other models are only forward-facing, so they're best for older children who don't like to be interrupted.
There are tandem buggies that can accommodate two children of the exact same age. This is helpful for newborns or twins who are close in age, but it can be difficult to maneuver, particularly when the space is small. Some tandem buggies have recline mechanisms on each seat, so that your toddler can lay flat while you push them.
The best single buggy will depend on the size of your family, budget and your lifestyle. If you're expecting a baby think about a light buggy with a seat that can be used from birth. If you are looking to secure your budget, go with a single stroller that can be converted into a double buggy if the time comes. phil&teds developed the world's first inline buggy and now provide a wide selection of stroller and double kit bundles that will aid you in this.
The purchase of a single buggy
A new buggy can be costly. The majority of pushchairs that come with bassinets for newborns cost more than PS700, which can be a big ask for parents with limited incomes.
The reality is that, except for an area with public transport available or have a massive car boot and spend every weekend in muddy parks, the majority of families buy two buggies. One main sturdier buggy that can be loaded and withstand rough terrain and grow with the family, and a light travel buggy for holidays and small spaces, such as on public transport or in crowded streets.
We recommend purchasing one single buggy that is one you love, and selling it when your child is old enough and you're required to upgrade to a double. single person buggy will not be stuck with a novelty that you don't want.
Buying the double buggy
When purchasing a double-buggy you will have plenty to consider from how much it will cost to what type of recline positions the seats can offer. You should also think about whether you need a large basket and the type of suspension the buggy has. It is also important to consider what features you want the buggy to have such as sunshades, rain covers and snack trays.
There is a variety of double buggies available on market and the best one for you will depend on who will be using it, your lifestyle and budgetary restrictions. If you're expecting twins, or have a toddler and a newborn, you may want an easier-to-use stroller that can grow with your family. UPPAbaby's Vista V2 is a perfect example, as it comes with 30 different seating configurations for all age groups. This lets you use it as a single stroller from birth, and later convert it into a side-by-side model for when your children get older. It can also be used with a third child, if the Ride-Along Piggyback Board is added, which makes it a very versatile option.
Mountain Buggy Duet V3.2 is another great alternative. This is one the slimmest double buggies available and is almost as narrow as that of a single buggy. It features two seats that face the world with independently reclining options that can be converted to a flat position. It can be adapted to accommodate two carrycots or cocoons as well as two car seats for babies so it can take twins or children of different age groups.

The handle folds with just one hand using the twist mechanism. It is also lightweight and, even though it might not be as compact as the Cybex Gazelle S, it's still small enough to fit in most car boot compartments or behind the doors at home. It has a good suspension and a footbrake that operates smoothly which makes it easier to push it over rough surfaces. The seats are cushioned and the harness straps are strong, making them comfortable for your children to sit in.
